Drenda Keesee is a woman you just have to know. At least that’s what the people at Sunny 95 out of Columbus, Ohio think. It’s what a number of voters who voted her one of the “20 Outstanding Women You Should Know” think, as well as what hundreds of members of the church she co-pastors think.
When Drenda began homeschooling her children in her small farmhouse she was determined that there would be more out there for herself and her family. With her husband, Pastor Gary Keesee of Faith Life Church in New Albany, Drenda set out to make a change. Together, the husband and wife duo began studying the principles of the Kingdom of God outlined in the Bible. They also started a business. While still learning the principles themselves, they began to teach others how to get out of debt and live free of that burden. As they continued to build their business, and later Faith Life Church, Drenda continued to pursue her passion of helping hurting women around her succeed in living a fulfilling life as godly women, wives and mothers.
In 2010, she furthered the vision by authoring the book She Gets It – a powerful book about becoming a woman who loves her life and who she is as she discovers her identity in Christ. Along with the book, Drenda held a top-notch conference for women, featuring such talent as singer/actress Rebecca St. James, author/speaker Michelle McKinney Hammond, and nationally acclaimed comedian Anita Renfroe.
Along with women like Ellie Hite from Project Clause, and the Angel Works Foundation, and Roselyn Beery, a Salvation Army volunteer and former participant in USO shows, Drenda was honored at an event held by Sunny 95 radio on Friday, February 25 at the Aladdin Shrine in Columbus, Ohio. The event featured the 20 recognized women and the various causes they support. Attendees were pampered with free gifts, hand massages, photographs, and more. With something for everyone – from information on everything from personal health to new flooring – the evening had an eclectic blend of tastes, sights, and sounds. Drenda’s table featured her book, as well as information about her church.
If you missed the event, you can get to know Drenda on television. She currently co-hosts a television program with her husband Gary. She is also now the host of her own television program, Drenda, coming this spring.
